A major credit card company and stock exchange recently came to an agreement with Weight Watchers International to give employees access to a health program.
In a statement, American Express said that it would pay the full cost for workers who wanted to sign up for the program for their first year and pay for half the fees for employees' spouses. NYSE Euronext also signed up for a plan which will be offered as part of the firm's "Empowering Wellness" program, covering half the cost for access to Weight Watchers Online or the Monthly Pass.
"We are pleased to partner with Weight Watchers International, a global leader in weight management services, to provide innovative personal wellness tools and resources to our employees," said Ed Hutner, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, NYSE Euronext. "Weight Watchers and NYSE Euronext share a commitment to help individuals achieve their wellness goals and healthier lifestyles. Our people benefit, and so does our business."
American Express made other news recently when it introduced a new card for consumers. The company, which deals heavily with merchant services, introduced a prepaid card for those who don't qualify for their credit cards.
